The Plain Township Board of Trustees is accepting applications for an appointment to the board of directors of the Jeanne B. McCoy Center for the Arts. The township appointment must be filled by a resident living within Plain Township or the City of New Albany. The appointment is for a vacancy in a three-year term that began January 1, 2025 and ends December 31, 2027. The board currently meets 6 times per year on the third Thursday of the month at 8:00 am. The deadline to apply to be considered for the McCoy Center Board of Directors position is Friday, July 25, 2025.
The Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts was established in 2007 as a unique Joint Operating Agreement between community stakeholders including the New Albany Community Foundation, the City of New Albany, Plain Township, and the New Albany – Plain Local School District. Each of the stakeholders appoints 3 members to the McCoy Center Board of Trustees, and the board itself appoints 3 members. The board of directors oversees the use of the building and also produces and promotes all professional programming through a professional staff.
Important: A member of the McCoy Center Board of Directors may be asked to make a financial contribution to the organization. Board members must attend 75% of scheduled meetings and assist in fundraising efforts. The Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts is a 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation.

Applications received by the published deadline will be provided to the board of trustees for consideration. The Plain Township Board of Trustees plans to conduct interviews of candidates at the Wednesday, August 6 board meeting at 6:30 pm at the Plain Township Fire Station located at 9500 Johnston Road. Once a candidate is selected and confirmed, all applicants will be notified. Applications will be retained for 12 months for any future openings on this board.
