Plain Township Fire Department has extended its registration period to April 20, 2018 due to the low number of registrants. The directions  to register to test, dates, times, location, process, are listed below.

 Read and follow all of the directions. Plain Township Fire Department does not have control over what other websites post. All applicants are required to follow the registration process outlined below and meet the qualifications listed on this website.

The Plain Township Fire Department is currently accepting registration for testing and the establishment of a Full-time and Part-time eligibility list. One Vacancy for a full time firefighter paramedic position exists; the successful candidate will be assigned to either a 12 – hour peak time shift* or a 24/48 schedule. Both shifts average a 96 hour pay period.

*Peak time shift is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 0800-2000. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Hiring Update for Currently Registered Applicants

Dear Candidates,

I would first like to personally thank you for registering for our upcoming hiring process. I appreciate you taking this first step to show your commitment to our department.

Unfortunately we had an unexpectedly low number of registrations in response to our job posting. Due to this low turnout, we have extended the registration deadline out an additional six (6) weeks to Friday April 20, 2018. The testing dates for March 16 & 17, 2018 are canceled and will be rescheduled.

We are going to advertise the job posting again. Your current registration is still valid for this extended time period, you will not have to register again. It is my hope that this additional six weeks will enable us to obtain a large enough pool of candidates to proceed to the next step in our hiring process.

Once the April 20 extension date has passed, the Fire Department – Job Posting section of our website will be updated with further instructions as to the next step(s) in our hiring process. A new testing date will be posted. Please make sure you check our website on a very regular basis to stay abreast of these updates.
