Plain Township Promotes Fire Department Officers
(New Albany, Ohio) The Plain Township Board of Trustees is proud to announce the promotion of Lieutenant Chris Pabst to the position of Captain and Firefighter Jason Moore to the position of Lieutenant. These promotions follow the retirement of Captain Greg Myers who retired in April of this year. A promotional ceremony will take place at the Plain Township Fire Station on Wednesday, August 21 at 7:00 pm.
Chris Pabst first began with the Plain Township Fire Department as a part-time firefighter in July 1997, becoming full-time in February 2001, and was promoted to Lieutenant in January 2013. Captain Pabst lead the kitchen committee that designed the station kitchen replacement completed in 2017. He received the firefighter of the year award in 2011 and the chief’s award in 2005, 2010, and 2017. Captain Pabst also teaches fire science at Columbus State Community College.
Jason Moore first began with the Plain Township Fire Department as a part-time firefighter in May 2004, becoming full-time in November 2004. Lieutenant Moore received the firefighter of the year award in 2014 and has been a designated firefighter in charge since 2013. Lieutenant Moore recently served as team leader with the Central Ohio Strike Team when the COST team was deployed to Dayton following a tornado touchdown on Memorial Day.
The Plain Township Board of Trustees selected Captain Pabst and Lieutenant Moore from a competitive group of well qualified and deserving candidates that thoroughly impressed the board with their leadership and dedication. We are all blessed by the commitment of the men and women that serve the Plain Township Fire Department.
