The Plain Township Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Battalion Chief Greg Ecleberry has been promoted to Assistant Fire Chief at the Plain Township Fire Department. The Plain Township Trustees stated that they “are pleased to welcome Greg as our new Assistant Chief. His demonstrated leadership in our department and in the community has been exemplary.”
Chief Ecleberry was first hired as a part-time firefighter in 1995 and has served as a full-time firefighter with the Plain Township Fire Department since November 1997. Chief Ecleberry was promoted to Lieutenant in 2001, to Captain in 2005, and to Battalion Chief in 2013.
Chief Ecleberry is a fire service instructor of 16 years, teaches officer development and firefighter training at the Central Ohio Technical College, and served on the Ohio Fire Chiefs training and education committee. Chief Ecleberry has an associate degree in Fire Science and EMS, a bachelor’s degree in public safety management, and is a graduate of the Ohio Fire Executive class 7.
“I am humbled at the opportunity to work as the Assistant Chief, being a partner to Chief Connor and working with the township trustees, administrator, and staff,” Chief Ecleberry said. Chief Ecleberry resides in New Albany with his family. He has coached baseball for many years in the New Albany Little League and New Albany Travel Baseball and has served on the Community Events Board.
